With Christmas markets popping up all over London, it’s kind of hard to get through the day without being reminded that it’s winter, it’s cold, it’s miserable, and the Christmas commitments that come with being an adult are looming. Fortunately, there’s one pop up coming to London that will offer a cure for these sad thoughts.
For three nights only, Shout About London is bringing a Mario Kart themed gaming arena called Koopa Troopa Beach to Old Truman Brewery on Brick Lane. The arena will have large screens with Nintendo 64 consoles, as well as Wii consoles for those perturbed by the magnificence of the Nintendo 64 controller, all equipped with free-to-play Mario Kart. There’s also going to be a screen dedicated to more competitive players, with a winner stays on race to be the last character standing and a prize winner. Fancy dress is more than welcome, and the best costume will also receive a prize, so start sorting through your old dungarees now.
As well as games there’s going to be food, drinks, and a stretch of Koopa Troopa Beach to relax on so this event seems like a pretty good way to forget the worst of your seasonal miseries.
If you can’t think of anything better than a night of Mario Kart, this event is taking place from the 1st of December until the 3rd of December in The Boiler House at Old Truman Brewery, 91 Brick Lane. It’s free entry, opening from 5pm to 11pm on the Tuesday, and from noon until 11pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
