Geeky find of the week: dragon egg trinket box

You don't get a much better guard than a dragon

If we’ve learned anything from years of consuming fantasy in its various forms, it’s that dragons, from Smaug to the Hungarian Horntail, are pretty efficient guards of precious objects. That’s why this gorgeous trinket box from Etsy store PrissyKittyDesigns is so perfect. Shaped like a dragon egg, and topped with a miniature clay dragon guard, this trinket box is fit for a Targaryen.

The boxes are made to order, using faux leather, antique brass findings and hinges, and violet silk for the interior lining. In its final form, the egg stands at around ten inches tall, and nineteen inches around.

The trinket box doesn’t come cheap, costing £102 plus shipping, but considering it’s handmade and is available in a variety of colours from blood red, to gold, to teal and many more besides, there’s enough customisability that you’ll feel like you’re getting something special to you. For any mother of dragons in your life, it’s the perfect Christmas gift.

For something a little more justifiable in terms of cost, though, the same store also sells dragon egg bags for almost half the price at ÂŁ57 plus shipping, and twice the portability.
