Last week at the Honor 7 launch event in London, Honor dropped the unexpected news that they’re adding a smartwatch to their increasing list of exclusive products, and they announced a competition to go with it.
The nameless smartwatch looks pretty appealing for women - unusually - featuring a 1.06-inch circular full-screen display that looks good on a smaller wrist (we’ve tried it). It has a slim, patterned band available in black, white and khaki (more of a beige if you ask us), and offers fitness tracking, sleep monitoring and call notifications. It’s water resistant up to 10 metres and dustproof with IP68 certification, and the battery lasts an impressive three days. It’ll be compatible with Android phones, and costs just £59.
Fortunately, they’re not planning to call the product the Honor Smartwatch: they’re running a competition inviting their fans to name it, with the person who submits the winning name receiving every Honor product available in their market until 2020.
Our pitiful suggestions:
- Honor Blackman (someone hadn’t heard of the famous actress and accused our editor of being a racist)
- Honor Off (as in… on or off. Yeah.)
- Honor Sic (because that’s not how you spell ‘honour’ in this country, sunshine)
- Honor Roll…?
If you’ve got something better (not difficult), you can submit your entry via the Honor page on Facebook or to @HonorEU on Twitter.
The Honor Something will be available in Winter 2015, initially via their online store vMall and later through other online sales channels with a recommended retail price of £59.
