Last year, Elon Musk tweeted that Tesla was working on a car charger “that automatically moves out from the wall and connects like a solid metal snake. For realz” and today Tesla posted on their twitter a video revealing that this Lovecraftian creature has risen. And, oh boy, is it creepy.
The prototype ‘solid metal snake’ does indeed plug itself into the Tesla Model S to charge it in an impressive display of automation. But there’s something about the slow way it moves and seems to peer into the socket before its decisive plunge that makes your timbers shiver ever so slightly.
