Thereâs been much talk recently about the fashion blogger pack. Some say theyâve become too populist, relying on sponsored content for clickbait, compromising the ethos of fashion blogging that many of us fell in love with way back.
Rest assured, weâve rounded up some the best bloggers on the circuit who provide original posts and fashion inspiration daily, and stay true to their style credentials that theyâve championed since small beginnings. Hereâs five of our favourite ladies that are sure to lend some refreshingly different perspectives.
1. Amy Bell
Amy Bell, otherwise known as The Little Magpie, has built a devoted fanbase for her fashion and travel posts, which are always served with a generous side helping of humour. Her fashion posts are interspersed with wearable staples, sometimes remixed with classics from the back-catalogue such as trusted skinnies, pointed boots as well as Amyâs little black leather jackets, a firm favourite for all occasions.
Expect crop tops and high waisted trousers a-plenty, as well as quirky pieces such as silken kimonos, patterned headscarves and dark denim dungarees, which make us want to break out in full Seventies clobber because she looks so good. Oh, and did we mention Amyâs a talented singer? Check out her videos here.
2. Kristabel Plummer
Kristabel Plummer of I Want You To Know is a mega talented lady with a passion for fun, colourful fashion. A knitwear designer, fashion and travel blogger and self-confessed chunky-heeled shoe obsessive, Kristabelâs fashion posts are filled with personality. Her blog is an “online scrapbook” and place for inspiration, which documents outfit posts, travels, exhibitions, fashion shows and everything else in between. Expect plenty of block colour, bold prints and fun accessories.
3. Laura Potter
Tinytwisst is a bang-on-the-money fashion blogger whoâs a huge advocate of the high-street. With elfin looks akin to a cross between Rosie Huntingdon-Whiteley and Miranda Kerr, tinytwisst flys the flag for petite fashionistas everywhere who want fashion that fits like a glove and looks damn good in the process. As much a fan of vampy lace detailing as she is gingham checks, tinytwisst pushes the boundaries of fashion and isnât afraid to experiment with her look.
4. Jazmine Rocks
Aside from possessing what might be the coolest name ever, Jazmine Rocks has a pretty awesome blog, Jazzabelleâs Diary, a platform for “personal style, secondhand finds and everyday life” which has proven a pretty good recipe for success.
Double denim features frequently on the blog, as do thigh-high boots and Seventies style hats - all of which sound like a potential minefield for mere mortals, but manage to look amazing on Jazmine. She also has a huge penchant for all things William Morris - no surprise due to her arts and crafts background, so expect more than a sprinkling of old-fashioned chintz in amongst current fashion trends.
5. Lucy Nicholls
Lucy is a colour-loving fashion, travel and lifestyle blogger with bags of energy and a happy-go-lucky vibe. From kooky pom-pom earrings to colour-pop trainers, one glance at Lucyâs Instagram will add a much-needed injection of energy to your day, as the self-described “colour magpie” documents her days in anything bright or sparkly that catches her eye.
Outfit posts show off Lucyâs eclectic fashion taste, from PVC skirts to flowered Caterpillar boots, in all landscapes from seaside shores to muddy festival fields. If you need cheering up, or are simply looking for cues on experimenting with fashion, this blog is your first port of call.
